The Rehoboth Beach Fire Department deserves a big thank you after they rescued a group of ducklings on Wednesday.

The fire department reportedly responded to a call at Tunnell Cancer Center, when team members noticed a duck quacking loudly near a storm drain.

After going to look, the Tunnell workers noticed several ducklings in the drain. When the rescue team responded, they were able to save most of the ducklings.

Members that made up the rescue team included Ted Doyle, Jesse Imhoff, Fire Chief Chatham Marsch, Connor Satchell, Leonard Tylecki, Captain Vaughn McCabe, and Safety Officer Howard Blizzard.

Fire Chief Chatham Marsch was quoted saying, “We don’t have many animal rescue calls. Most storm drains are pretty deep and the grates are heavy to lift, so people should call the fire department or someone who will be wearing protective gear to go down in the drain.”
