DSP: Man dead after high-speed chase on U.S. 113

Delaware State Police say a man is dead after he led police on high-speed chase on U.S. 113.
Around 11:30 Friday night, police say Edward Wallace Jones, 40 of Preston, Maryland was being pursued by the Dagsboro Police Department for multiple traffic violations, including driving the wrong way on a divided highway. We’re told before reaching Frankford, Jones lost control of his 1996 Ford Explorer as he tried to make a lane change. Police say the SUV rotated before overturning several times. The SUV reportedly landed on it’s roof on the north edge of Daisey Street.
According to DSP, Jones was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident is still under investigation and it’s not known whether or not drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the collision.
Police say U.S. 113 North at Daisey Street was shut down for three hours during the preliminary investigation.
