DSP investigate attempted Dagsboro robbery, assault

Members of the Delaware State Police say they are investigating a burglary that occurred near Dagsboro early Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers say around 11:45 AM on Iris Field Lane, a woman claims she was in her bathroom when she heard a noise. When the woman entered the back part of the house to investigate the source of the noise, she was reportedly confronted by an unknown male.
Police say the male assaulted the woman before fleeing the home. The woman reportedly sustained injuries from the assault, but did not need immediate medical attention.
Members of the Dagsboro Police Department, Delaware Natural Resources K9 Unit, Delaware State Police Aviation, and Millsboro Police Department, all responded to the scene to assist with searching for the suspect, whom troopers say was not located.
Troopers describe the suspect as a black male, 5’10” tall, wearing all dark clothing. No weapon was displayed.
