Crisfield man arrested on child pornography charges

Maryland State Police say that investigators from the Criminal Enforcement Division Lower Shore Region arrested a Somerset County man on Monday for child pornography charges.
Officials say that earlier in 2016, investigators found information about potential child pornography during a burglary and theft investigation.
Marco Garcia, 38, of Crisfield, was then identified as the suspect, and a consent search was reportedly conducted at his home sometime after 4 PM on Monday.
This all started last month after police released this photo of Garcia allegedly walking around a backyard in Crisfield in a bikini. Once Garcia was identified, police said they eventually found child porn on a cell phone belonging to Garcia.
Several departments helped with this search including the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Lower Shore Region, state troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack, deputies from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department and officers from the Crisfield Police Department.
Officials say that after searching Garcia’s Minden Avenue home, they found various digital media storage devices. Evidence will apparently be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics Lab for analysis.
Garcia was reportedly taken to the Somerset County District Court Commissioner’s Office for processing and a hearing, and was held on a $10,000 bond.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing and ask that anyone with information regarding this case to contact the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack at 443-260-3700.
