Cause of lawn mower fire in Talbot County under investigation

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says they responded to the report of a fire involving a lawn mower on Friday.
Around 5:00 PM firefighter with the St. Michaels Volunteer Fire Department responded to a property on Bellevue Road, after a resident from across the water in Oxford noticed the flames, and called it in.
According to the report, a Craftsman riding style lawn mower, belonging to Christopher Havener, was on fire, and took 20 firefighters about 20 minutes to control the blaze.
Officials say that the flames started outside on the back side of the building, but the preliminary cause is still under investigation. The total loss of the structure is reported as $850.
