Cause of house fire in Hurlock under investigation

Officials say they are looking into what started a Hurlock house fire, early Tuesday morning.
The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal says that a Hurlock Patrol Police Officer was walking on North Main Street, when he noticed the flames, and called it in around 4:30 AM.
According to the report, Dell Williams is the owner of the home, which is converted into a two-unit apartment. Forty firefighters from the Hurlock Fire Department responded to the two alarm blaze, taking about one hour to control the flames.
There have been no reported deaths or injuries, and the smoke alarm, fire alarm, and sprinkler status are all unknown, at this time. Officials say that the estimated loss is $150,000 structurally, and $15,000 as far as contents.
Officials say that the flames started somewhere on the first floor, however the preliminarily cause in still under investigation.
Williams and her family were reportedly said to have been displaced because of the fire, however they are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
