Car chase in a stolen vehicle ends in arrest of one, in Dover

The Dover Police Department says they arrested a man on Sunday evening, after they found him driving a stolen vehicle.
Malachai DeBruce, 44, of New Castle, was reportedly arrested after a long vehicle pursuit around 5 PM. Officials say that they were patrolling the area of North duPont Highway at the Dover Mall, when a police officer saw a vehicle that was reported stolen out of New Castle County.
As the officer tried to stop the vehicle, DeBruce reportedly drove north towards Smyrna in an attempt to get away from police.
Officials say that the Delaware State Police helped in stopping DeBruce as they were able to force him to one lane, and deploy stop sticks to safely deflate all four tires of the stolen car, bringing the chase to an end.
DeBruce then reportedly surrendered and charged with receiving stolen property, a vehicle, disregarding a police officer signal, and 29 additional traffic offenses.
He was then committed to James T. Vaughn Correction Center after failing to post bond.
