Alleged drunk driver kills 6 year old girl

Bayhealth Kent General Hospital announced that six year old Anya Jackson was dead Wednesday night after being struck by a car in her apartment complex.

Anya, her mother LeShell and family friend had just got back from the mall when 26- year-old David Randall attempted to park his car – pinning them between his Ford Focus and the exterior wall of the condo. Witnesses tell 47 ABC that Randall was drunk and never lifted his foot from the gas pedal.

“I wasn’t ready for this.” said Anya mother, LeShell. That was my baby and I’ll never be able to see her again. What was he thinking?”

Dover police said the accident happened at approximately 8:30 pm on Wednesday  outside of the thousand block of White Oak Condominium. Surrounding neighbors tried their best to help. Anya’s mom said it it weren’t for them her daughter would’ve died behind a bush in the dirt.

“I will forever remember everybody coming together around her just praying together.”said LeShell. “That was her last breath and she wouldn’t have had that without them.”

Randall Jackson is charged with 1st degree vehicular homicide ; 2 counts of vehicular assault; and driving under the influence.
