3 Wicomico Co. teens rob victims with illegal firearms

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has charged two 18 year-old’s and one 19 year-old with possession of illegal firearms after the teens allegedly used guns to assault and rob a group of victims in Delmar.

Police say 18 year-old Muhammad Alanzo Purnell of Delmar, along with 18 year-old Kameron Ja’von Christopher of Salisbury and 19 year-old Kyle Wade Johnson also of Salisbury are all being charged after the incident in the early hours of Thursday morning.  Police say the three individuals named initiated an altercation with “several other” individuals.  The three local men reportedly brandished firearms and forced the individuals on the ground where they were continually struck and kicked.  One of the victims told police they were struck in the head with a  gun during the altercation, while the suspects demanded money.

The victims were able to alert deputies that the suspects fled in a truck.  Based off that information, deputies were able to locate the suspects a short time later on a nearby road.  Purnell reportedly was uncooperative and made repeated threats against law enforcement.  Officials say he also kicked a deputy while on scene.

Police say the investigation revealed the firearms that were used during the alleged crime.  Officials from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office say all of the firearms were possessed illegally.

The three suspects were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner, who held all three suspects on $500,000 bond each.
