UPDATE: Wico. Co. secures storage space for voting machines elsewhere

Wicomico County officials and the Wicomico County library board of trustees have been going back and forth the past few months over one issue…storage space to house the county’s voting machines. The space in question is the area in the lower level of the Wicomico County Public library known as the Entrepreneurial Center.

According to Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver,  after the state switched to paper ballots this year the machines had to be secured in a climate control environment by the second week of June.  On Tuesday, 47 ABC reached out to Culver who tells us the county has secured storage space on Snow Hill Road. Culver says that’s where they will be relocating all voting machines as well as the Wicomico County Board Elections. He tells 47 ABC all the voting machines will be moved in within the next few days. However,  as far as the board of elections, that will happen by the end of the year.

County officials tell us the Entrepreneurial Center will be left in the library. On Tuesday, 47 ABC also  reached out to library officials who tell us they have not heard from Culver.
