UPDATE: Two arrested in Dover carjacking investigation

Police in Dover say they have made two arrests in connection to the carjacking of a teenager that happened at a mall, earlier in June.
The Dover Police Department says they have made two arrests in their investigation into the carjacking of an 18-year-old, that happened at the Dover Mall on June 8. Investigators say they were able to identify the two suspects, based on witness statements in the area, where the vehicle was left behind.
In the incident, Police say two men, one with a pipe and one with a wooden baton, walked up to an 18-year-old in the Dick’s Sporting Goods packing lot, and odered him back into his car. The two suspects, the victim, and a third, female suspect then all got into the vehicle, and the victim drove back roads to Milford on West Woodside Drive, where Police say the suspects force him out, and took off. The victim then called 911, and Police recovered the stolen car nearby.
On Tuesday, Police say Delaware State Police Troop 7 arrested 22-year-old Benjamin Beyer, and 21-year-old Taylor Cox, on unrelated charges. After linking them to the carjacking incident, Police say they charged each with carjacking first degree, and conspiracy second degree. Beyer turned over to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, and Cox to Baylor Women’s Correctional Center, each on a $62,000 secured bond.
