UPDATE: One dead, one airlifted after motorcycle crash in Milton

State Police say they are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash, in Milton, that injured one, and took the life of another.
Delaware State Police say the incident, which involved a motorcycle, happened around 1:25 PM Friday, on Route 1 – Coastal Highway near Route 5 – Union Street Extended.
According to the report, 23-year-old Joshua Courts was riding a 2007 EX6 Kawasaki motorcycle, southbound on Route 1, just north of the intersection of Route 5. Police say 67-year-old Penny Jeffries, of Pennsylvania, was driving a 2007 Lincoln MKZ, and was stopped on northbound Route 5, for a stop sign at Route 1.
Troopers say Jeffries pulled from the stop sign, in an attempt to cross the southbound travel lanes, and get into the median crossover to turn northbound. Investigators state that the front of the Kawasaki hit the driver’s side door of the Lincoln MKZ, within the southbound left lane.
Police say the Lincoln came to rest upright in the median crossover facing northbound, while Courts was ejected from the motorcycle at impact, and landed next to the motorcycle, which fell onto its left side, just west of the vehicle.
Courts was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Jeffries, was apparently wearing a seat belt during the collision, and was airlifted from the scene to Christiana Medical Center where she was admitted with serious injuries.
Officials say the northbound lanes of Route 1 and one of the southbound lanes, were closed immediately after the crash, for during their investigation, and to clear the scene, for about an hour and a half, but has since re-opened.
