UPDATE: Magnolia man found guilty of gun charges

A Magnolia man has been convicted on gun charges. The Delaware Department of Justice says 30-year-old William Bessicks was convicted of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and possession of ammunition by a person prohibited.
The charges stem from an April 2015 incident, where members of Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit, Governor’s Task Force, and Special Operations Response Team searched Bessick’s home on Terry Drive, in Magnolia.
The search was apparently in connection to a drug investigation, for the sale of crack cocaine. While searching the home, Officers found a .22 caliber handgun, and a small box of ammunition.
Due to a previous robbery conviction Bessicks isn’t allowed to have a gun. He now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison.
