Two arrested in Bowers Beach on drug and weapons charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges, in the parking lot of a local boat ramp.

DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police say on June 2, they arrested 26-year-old Cory Warner, of Denton, Maryland, and 29-year-old Amanda Husfelt, of Henderson, Maryland, in connection with an incident inside a parked car at the Bowers Beach Boat Ramp parking lot. Police say a loaded .38-caliber revolver, ammunition, heroin and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle, and seized as evidence.

Warner was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm within 10 years of a prior conviction, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of heroin, carrying a concealed deadly instrument, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Husfelt was charged with hindering prosecution, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators say after a medical checkup, Warner was turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown, on a $46,500 secured bond, pending a court appearance at a later date, while Husfelt released on $1,500 unsecured bond, also pending a court appearance at a later date.
