Tips on how to stay safe on vacation

In light of the recent alligator attack in Orlando, there has been much focus on safety, where ever you may be. Known for its beaches, restaurants and tourist season, the town of Ocean City knows people come to have a good time, but they always put safety first.
Communications Manager Jessica waters tells 47 ABC, if you do plan on taking a vacation, use the same safety tools that you would use at home. If you plan on heading to the beach, always make sure there’s a lifeguard on duty. Also, don’t be afraid to ask the lifeguard about the water conditions. All these tips could end up saving your life.
Waters tells 47 ABC, “Put a little research into your safety learn about our walk smart and drive smart and bike smart campaign if you’re going to be doing water related activities make sure you brush up on your boat safety of your going to be swimming in the ocean make sure you check in with the lifeguard, so there’s always things ahead of time before you get here.”
Waters adds that wherever you may be staying while on vacation, the lobby or front desk are usually more than willing to give you advice on the area.
