Teen allegedly leads cops on car chase throughout Harrington

Police in Harrington say a 16-year-old Milford teen was arrested Sunday, after he fled from officers behind the wheel of a car.
According to Harrington Police, officers attempted to stop a vehicle around 11:45 PM on South DuPont Highway after it was clocked going 25 miles per hour over the the speed limit, then later 45 miles per hour over. The vehicle reportedly fled and committed numerous traffic violations as the pursuit went through several streets within the town.
While on Wolcott Street in the area of Dorman Street, officers say they were able to stop the vehicle by blocking it. In which time the teen suspect apparently fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit police say the juvenile was taken into custody.
During a search of the vehicle police say they located a black BB gun that the juvenile had reportedly hid in the seat.
The teen has been charged with over 40 charges including resisting arrest, driving without a license, and numerous other traffic violations. He was reportedly released to the custody of his mother pending a future court appearance in Kent County Family Court.
