Sussex County Council sued over Overbrook Town Center

The developers of the biggest proposed commercial project in Sussex County are suing the County Council for voting against the rezoning application. From the start, the Overbrook Town Center Coalition has opposed the building the over 100 acre project that sits off of Route 1.

Richard Holtkamp says the group as well as the public who back them are ready to dig in for the long haul to stand up against the development of the agricultural land. Holtkamp tells 47ABC “we anticipated that they would object to it they would not stand pat and say we accept the denial. So we’re not surprised by it, I mean we’re obviously disappointed that it’s come up we would’ve preferred if the developers would have listened to the vast majority of the local population who are opposed to this thing.”

Holtkamp adds his group is ready to play a role in the legal process if necessary, but for now they are just making sure their voice is heard.
