String of thefts from vehicles under investigation in Sussex County

State Police are warning Sussex County residents, about a recent rash of thefts from cars in the area.

Delaware State Police say they are currently investigating multiple thefts from vehicles at several homes in Angola. Trooper say their preliminary investigation shows that on Monday, an unknown number of suspects went into about 14 different vehicles, stealing items and rummaging through unlocked vehicles, at multiple residences in the Angola and Beach Estates south of CR 277, Angola Road.

These thefts reportedly happened during the late night hours to the early morning hours. Police say the stolen items include electronic devices, and cash. In most of the cases, Investigators say the vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway, or nearby, and left unlocked.

The Delaware State Police strongly urge people to utilize the following tips:

·    Lock your car doors and roll up you windows
·    Close and secure your garage doors.
·    Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle
·    Leave outdoor lights on in the driveway or have security lighting installed
·    Report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1 immediately
