Sheriff’s Office warns of contractor scam

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has been looking in to complaints regarding unlicensed contractors from out of the area traveling through Wicomico County offering paving and related services to residents. Complaints are that these individuals will offer work at what appears to be a bargain price. Complaints have reportedly been received regarding the quality of the work itself and the attempted collecting of additional fees once the work is completed.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to use caution when engaging transactions with transient and unlicensed individuals.

If anyone believes they have been a victim of this type of activity, please contact the Sheriff’s Office or the law enforcement agency of the jurisdiction in which they reside.
