Seaford police chase leads to arrest of Wilmington man

Following a police chase, Delaware State Police say a 19-year-old Wilmington man was arrested and now faces drug charges.
Around 8:30 Friday night, we’re told troopers spotted a Nissan Maxima that was previously pursued by Harrington PD. Police say as they initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle the driver allegedly sped up in an attempt to flee.
While driving by the Seaford Meadows development, 19-year-old Theodore Smallwood, of Wilmington, allegedly jumped out of the car and hid in a tall patch of grass.
Troopers say they were able to apprehend Smallwood, finding marijuana, heroin, drug paraphernalia and cash. We’re told he is being charged with Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana and Heroin and four counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Nissan Maxima was apparently found abandoned in Seaford.
Delaware State Police say the investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
