Seacrets show off bullet proof shields

In light of the Orlando shooting, club security is a major concern. They remain what are considered “soft targets” in an active shooter scenario.

Seacrets in Ocean City tells us they’ve been consistently updating their security since the early 2000s, most recently with bullet proof shields last summer.

They’re made by a local company out of Pocomoke City. The shields come in all sorts of designs and blend right in to the walls of the club. The idea is for no one to notice them.

Justin Grimes, the assistant general manager at Seacrets says, “It’s not for any kind of combat or anything. It’s basically for protection and evacuation and to get people out safely. They’re mounted all over the property. There’s numerous ones around. It’s just one more step we’ve taken here to make our customers, employees, everyone here feel safer.”

We’re told all security, undercover law enforcement, and management staff know the locations of the shields at Seacrets.
