Salisbury Police investigating stabbing, one injured

Police in Salisbury say they are investigating a stabbing, that sent one man to the hospital.

Salisbury Police say on Wednesday around 8:30 PM, Officers responded to the Clairmont Shopping Center for reports of an assault involving a knife. Once on scene, Officers say they learned that a 21-year-old man was walking through the parking lot of the shopping center on South Salisbury Boulevard, when he was accosted by seven to ten suspects on foot, and riding bikes.

According to the report, the 21-year-old and one of the group started arguing, at which the 21-year-old tried to run, but was chased down by the suspects, who started assaulting him. Police say the victim fell to the ground, and was repeatedly punched and kicked by the suspects, before they ran from the parking lot, on foot. Responding Officers apparently canvased the area, but weren’t able to located the suspects.

Police say the 21-year-old victim had been stabbed once in his back, and was rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and released. It is apparently unknown at this time if the victim knew the suspect or not. Detectives say they are working to identify the suspects. The first is described as a male, standing 5′-10″, with a thin build, and light facial hair, 16-20-years-old; while the second was only believed to be a male between 16 and 20-years-old.
