Reeder leads Blue past Gold in 61st Annual Blue-Gold Game

Future Delaware Blue Hen Colby Reeder scored three total touchdowns, on his way to game MVP as the Blue team defeated the Gold 31-20 in the 61st annual Blue-Gold football game.
Reeder scored his first touchdown of the day from 13 yards out, taking a sweep around the right end for the score. The Gold team would answer back when Dover’s Triston Harris found Smyrna receiver Brandon Bishop for a beautiful back shoulder touchdown. Reeder would strike again in the second quarter, taking an interception 100 yards the other way for a score, the longest interception return in Blue-Gold history.
After going into the half with a 13-7 lead, Reeder would score his 3rd touchdown of the day, going 44 yards and mixing a nice display of cuts to get into the endzone. The Gold team would end their drought in the third, when Middletown’s Frankie Datillo plunged one-yard into the endzone. But Gold would pour it on in the fourth, getting two scores, including a beautiful 34-yard touchdown pass from William Penn’s DJ Johnson to Mount Pleasant’s Robert Myrick. Newark lineman Angel Guerrero would score the final touchdown of the game, when he caught a backwards pass to get into the endzone, as Gold won the game 31-20.
