On the Job: Wheel’s Luxury Taxi Service

With the advent of Uber, Lyft, and other ride-sharing services the taxi landscape is certainly changing, but the basic idea is the same, you’re paying someone for a ride. In Salisbury, it appears there is something called a luxury taxi service. This week “On the Job” 47 ABC suits up as a luxury taxi cab driver for Wheel’s Luxury Taxi Service.

The owners of the taxi service Kapre Davis and Kevin White say it all started as a dream for them. Best friends since middle school, these two teens decided to shoot for the stars and start Wheel’s Luxury Taxi Service together.

White says when a customer calls they tell them where they are and where they want to go. As far as knowing how to get to the customer, the taxi service relies on Google Maps. White also says when they arrive, they promptly open the door for them.

White says the hardest part of his job is knowing where everything is located. And the most annoying? Red lights. But White stressed that the luxury taxi service can pick you up from anywhere. They even go as far as Baltimore and Washington D.C.

Next week On the Job 47 ABC heads out to Bishopville to work with the Maryland Coastal Bays Program on a special project.
