Milford man arrested on 5th DUI offense

Jeffrey A. Bradley, 29, of Milford, Del.

A Milford man has been charged, with what Police say, is his fifth driving under the influence offense, after he was found passed out behind the wheel of a car.

Delaware State Police say around 8:40 PM on Tuesday, a concerned citizen called 911, to report someone unconscious behind the wheel of a brown Ford Taurus. The vehicle was apparently stopped on North Union Church Road. Once Troopers and EMS arrived on scene, they say they found 29-year-old Jeffrey Bradley in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, passed out. He reportedly had to be revived by EMS, who performed a sternum rub.

Police say Bradley immediately reacted, and became disorderly with the emergency responders on the scene. He was then taken into custody, and transported to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital for evaluation. While in the Emergency Room, Police say Bradley once again became combative with the staff, and attempted to flee the hospital, but didn’t make it, and was once again placed in custody by a Trooper.

Eventually, Bradley was turned back into the custody of State Police in Bridgeville, where it was revealed that he had four other driving under the influence charges, in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010.

This is his fifth DUI arrest, according to Police, and he was charged with fifth offense driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest, failure to have insurance in possession, and failure to have registration in possession. He was then ordered to be held on a $7,500.00 cash bond at the Sussex Correctional Institution.
