Man sentenced 110+ years in Wicomico Co.

A Wicomico County man will spend a minimum of 75 years behind bars for felony gun and drug offenses.
Officials say, 34-year-old, Jermaine Peters was sentenced today after a Search and Seizure warrant was executed back in October 13, 2015, allowing officers to search a Salisbury home.
Authorities say they located two stolen handguns loaded with ammunition in addition to a rifle and a shoe box containing over $118,000 dollars in cash.
Officers also located over one kilogram of heroin in the home, which they say held a street value of over $700,000 dollars.
According to court documents, on May 3, after a one day trial, a Wicomico County jury convicted Peters of possession of a large amount of heroin, possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense, two counts of a felon being in possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and numerous other offenses related to the incident back in October.
Court documents show, Peters has multiple prior convictions including felony drug and firearms convictions. They also say, at the time this offense, Peters was on parole for possession with the intent to distribute a narcotic.
The total sentence imposed was 111 years, with 75 years being active incarceration, and 25 of those years being a mandatory sentence with limited possibility for parole.
