Locals Shine In Brooks Robinson All-Star Game

Three local baseball standouts got the opportunity of a lifetime Sunday afternoon when they took part in the 2016 Brooks Robinson All-Star game. Parkside’s Matt Smith, Cambridge SD Michael Richardson and Colonel Richardson’s Jaret Bennett all got to showcase their skills against some of the top talent from across the state.
Colonel’s Jaret Bennett would be on the mound for the South and showed off his strong left arm. Smith and Richardson on the other hand showcased their bats. Richardson would have a line drive up the middle early on for a RBI base knock, while Smith would have a RBI fielders choice to help push his teams lead to 3 early on. They would be able to hold on from there, as the South would take the win, 5-2.
