Kent-Queen Anne’s Sweep Twin Bill At Somerset

Kent-Queen Anne’s traveled down to Princess Anne on Saturday morning, pulled off a double header sweep of Somerset 2-0 in game 1, then 9-3 in game 2. Kent-Queen Anne’s got a gem out of Alex Allsilton in game 2, then used a 7 run 6th inning in the night cap to pull off the wins.

In game one, the teams would be in a pitchers duel. Alliston would have a no-hitter going through the first 4 innings before finally giving up an infield single. While no batters was able to really square him up, Somerset’s Caleb Walston was just as good. Kent-Queen Anne’s would score a run early on off a pass ball to take a 1-0 lead. Then they made it 2-0 after a RBI single from Kole Klabe to center. That’s all it would take as Alliston did the rest for the win.

The night cap saw a lot more offense from both teams. Jacob Barfield would give Somerset the early lead off a RBI fielders choice that scored Philp Malta. They would work the bases loaded looking for more before Tyler Loh would work out of the jam with a backwards K. Kent-Queen Anne’s would then fight back off a RBI base knock to left from Cameron Byrd that scored Klabe. Somerset would eventually take a 3-2 lead after a RBI fielders choice from Matt Teasley that scored Walston. The lead would hold all the way til the 6th, but that’s when Kent-Queen Anne’s would make their move. they plated 7 runs in the inning, highlights by a 2 RBI double from Ben Manley and a 2 RBI single from Bradley Wilkins. The pitching would close the door from there as they were able to hold on for the win.
