Jun. 21 – UMD Extension’s Youth Clubs

The Extension Office is currently underway with efforts in their 4-H enrollment campaign, which began for the summer season with the Frontier Town Western Theme Park gathering of clubs which was an opportunity for experiential learning and camaraderie shared among veteran 4-Hers and the newly interested in Worocester County. More group events will be held throughout the tri-county area in the coming year. They currently have an online enrollment incentive of a Worcester County 4-H branded t-shirt for all youth registered as a Worcester County 4-H by June 30th with their annual membership dues remitted. Annual dues are just $10!
There are general community clubs in all three geographical areas of Worcester County plus a specialized Equine Club and a Livestock Club which really teaches youth about showmanship in the competition ring at the fairs. Similarly, Wicomico and Somerset have clubs available to the youth in their counties as well.
Fairs this summer are excellent avenues for 4-Hers to show off their work, projects, and animals they have worked hard on throughout the year.
