Hearns Pond Dam and boat ramp to close for construction

DNREC is beginning a year-long construction project to replace the Hearns Pond Dam and Boat Ramp.

Officials say the dam was seriously damaged during storms back in August 2001 and June 2006. We’re told the dam and boat ramp will be closed for about a year until construction wraps up.

In the meantime, DNREC is telling fisherman they can head over to Concord or Craigs Pond, which both have boat ramps and are within five miles of Hearns Pond.
