Forensics evidence leads to the arrest of Easton woman in burglary

Almost a year later an Easton woman was arrested Wednesday in connection to a burglary.

According to the Easton Police Department, 30-year-old Amber Wilkens was taken into custody after her fingerprints was found at a scene of burglary.

On the afternoon of July 22, 2015, officers responded to the 300 block of Talbot Street in Easton in reference to a burglary. After talking to witnesses, officers say they learned that a suspect propped a table against the home and climbed into the residence through a bathroom window, and stole money.

Fingerprints were reportedly obtained from the table, window, and inside the residence. Those fingerprints were later sent to the Maryland State Police crime lab for analysis and the crime lab confirmed that the fingerprints belong to Wilkens

Wilkens has been charged with burglary 1st, 3rd and 4th degree and theft. She was ordered to be held at the Talbot County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
