A New Castle man has been charged, in connection to two burglaries that happened in Dover, on Thursday.
Dover Police say around 5:15 PM on Thursday, an 86-year-old woman was awoken in their East Loockerman Street home, by a strange noise. According to the report, when she checked, she found 33-year-old Brian Jolley in her kitchen. He then apparently fled from the house, with multiple liquor bottles.
Responding Officers say they were able to find Jolley, and take him into custody shortly thereafter.
Police say Officers responded to another report of a burglary, this time on Bayard Avenue, that happened between 8:15 AM and 6:30 PM. A witness reported to Police about a man that was walking on the property of the home earlier in the day, which apparently matched Brian Jolley. The victim told Police that alcohol and an electronic tablet were stolen from her home. Police say that Jolley had the victim’s tablet in his possession at the time of his arrest, at the East Loockerman burglary.
Jolley was then charged with two counts of burglary second degree, theft under $1,500, and theft under $1,500 – victim over 62-years of age. He is now reportedly being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $6,000 secured bond.
