Anderton-sponsored bill to become law; restore funding to struggling counties

House Bill 1395, which passed the state legislature on the final day of Maryland’s 2016 legislative session, was given the green light by Governor Hogan late last month.
The bill was sponsored by local delegate Carl Anderton Junior who tells us this will restore some of the funding taken away from counties during the recession by the O’Malley administration. Once allotted, Anderton says the money could then be used by the counties for anything they choose whether that be road projects program funding or anything in between.
“They’re saying the economy is turning around, I said well then it’s time for this money to start coming back home,” Anderton told 47 ABC. “To actually see it get put back, man, I mean that’s so cool.”
