Alcohol to be served at Civic Center after permit granted

The Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center now has a liquor license.
Tuesday night, the Liquor License Board granted a ‘Class B License’ to the Civic Center, allowing the facility to sell alcohol inside.
Civic Center officials said that beer and wine will be sold at shows or concerts by mid-September or early October. Hard alcohol would only be sold for private events, based on a clients preference.
Facility supervisors told the board that for some shows, family sections will be established. There would also be a cut-off time for each show, likely around 11:30 or 12:00, depending on the show.
The Civic Center has apparently been preparing for the permit by training more than 40 personnel. We’re told now even more people are expected to be trained.
