What your mom means to you

Sunday marks the 102nd anniversary of President Woodrow Wilson signing the proclamation for Mother’s Day. On May 8, 1914 Wilson proclaimed that each year the second Sunday in May would be spent honoring mothers.

Originally, each mothers day an United States flag was supposed to be hung on each government building and home, as a public expression and love for the mothers of our country.

However today the holiday has transitioned more to honoring whoever you call mom.

47 ABC asked a few people what their mom meant to them.

“She means the world to me, I mean she claims every time I get sick I run around there to her for her to take care of me. I’m 53 years old. Anyway, I went to see her this morning and it made her morning,” said Edward Waters Jr.

“She’s like a, you know like a hero, someone you look up to,” said Melissa Dashield.

“My mother means the world to me I have the greatest mother in the world,” Lanetta Miles.
