Warriors Shut Out Wi-Hi On Senior Day

The Mardela softball team remained perfect against teams in the Bayside South as they rolled to a 14-0 win Thursday over Wi-Hi. The win improves the Warriors to 16-1, while the loss drops the Indians to 5-11.
The Warriors would jump out to a quick lead in the 1st, scoring 4 2-out runs. They would score on pass balls twice, before getting a RBI single to left by Mackensie Disbennett. The lead then swelled to 8-0 by the end of the 2nd after the Warriors racked up a RBI double from Kasey Goshorn, followed by a RBI single from Megan Roy. It might have been worse if not for a great play by Indians Jordan Teagle, who was able to save a run at home after covering the plate on a pass ball. The Warriors continued to roll though as their pitching was just as strong. Kalie Adkins and Amber Lovelace would combine to throw a no-hitter as the Warriors would pick up the conference win.
Mardela travels to Cambridge SD on Monday, while Wi-Hi host Cambridge SD on Friday.
