Warriors Down Eagles In Regional Semifinal

The Mardela softball team punched their ticket back to the Regional Title game in a big way Wednesday when the Warriors topped Snow Hill 11-2. Mardela will now face the winner of St. Michaels and Colonel Richardson on Friday.
The Warriors would grab a quick lead after Baylee Littleton would turn on a pitch and send it to center for a RBI single to score Sydney Goertzen. Littleton would then score off a suicide squeeze pulled off by Megan Roy. The scoring continued from there as Logan Genga would then send a pitch to center field for a RBI base knock of her own. The lead was short lived however, as the Eagles would come right back. Hannah Jones would blast a shot to dead center that would hit off the fence, scoring both Kelsey Hall and Erin Phillips. But that’s as close as they would get, as the bats stayed hot for Mardela. Genga would come up with a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 3rd. The lead was more than enough for Kalie Adkins who was able to close it out for the win.
