Walston’s Gem Earns Jags Playoff Win

Washington baseball got a strong performance out of Caleb Walston as they were able to top rival Crisfield 11-1. The Jaguars advance to face top seeded Mardela on Monday.

The Jaguars would open up a goo lead early, and stretch it to 6-0 after Kieonte Nutter would hit a RBI fielders choice to score Corey Handy. Washington wasn’t done just yet, as Riley Horner would hit a shallow shot to left that would drop in, and allow Eric Logan to come in. Horner would later score as Julius White would hit a one to shallow right as the Jags would grab control of the game. The Crabbers would continue to battle though, and finally push a run across after Jordan Marlatt would get an RBI single to right field. But that was about the only damage that Walston would give up all day as he twirled a gem, finishing with 8 K’s in a complete game effort. Washington would then put the game away with a RBI single by Nutter that would plate Eric Logan.
