UPDATE: Interstate Container fire ruled accidental

A fire at Interstate Container Monday night has been ruled accidental.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office, the fire broke out Monday night around 5:50 PM. The blaze apparently began after some cardboard caught fire while it was near a running motor on the roof of the silo.

Officials say it took 59 firefighters about an hour and thirty minutes to put out. Damages are estimated at $50,000.

Authorities say no one was hurt. We’re told an area of Woods Road between Chesapeake Drive and Field Crest Road was closed off while the scene was active.
