Two injured in Caroline Co. stabbing, suspect sought

State Police say they are searching for a suspect, after two women were stabbing in Caroline County on Thursday morning.

Maryland State Police say around 1:00 AM, Troopers from the Easton Barrack responded to reports of a possible stabbing on Andersontown Road, in Denton. Once on scene, Troopers say they found two women who had been assaulted, and had stab and cut wounds.

One victim, a 33-year-old Heather Hill, of Greensboro, was flown from the scene to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she is being treated for her injuries, while the second victim, a 53-year-old Jackie Roach, of Camden, Delaware, was treated at the scene by emergency medical services personnel, for by emergency medical services personnel. She was apparently not immediately transported to a hospital.

Investigators from the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division reportedly responded to the scene, to continue the investigation. According to the report, that investigation shows that the women had been dropped off at the Andersontown Road home, around 9:30 PM on Wednesday, with intentions of visiting a friend, but unbeknownst to them,Hill’s ex-boyfriends was at the house.

The two had apparently recently ended their relationship, and had been arguing throughout the day. Investigators say the two started arguing at the residence, and the homeowner asked all three people leave, but when the two victims tried to leave, Police say the suspect assaulted Hill, and told her told her to stay at the house.

The suspect and the two women then went outside, where the argument apparently continued, during which Police say the suspect assaulted Hill further by throwing her to the ground, biting her nose, and then dragging her back to the front porch of the house. The home was apparently locked, so the suspect made his way inside, through a window.

While inside, Police say the two women ran to a nearby house, to get help. The suspect then reportedly ran up behind both women at the neighbor’s house and again started punching Hill, while Roach reportedly told Police that she was yelling at the suspect to stop, and he chased her before punching, hitting, and stabbing her in her hand.

Investigators say the suspect then ran off, and when Hill approached the Roach, she bleeding profusely from the neck and head, before collapsing. A call was made to 911, and EMS personnel and Troopers responded. Maryland State Police say helicopters conducted an aerial search, and other law enforcement agencies assisted in searching with a K-9 and in patrol cars for the suspect.

The suspect was not immediately located, and the search is continuing. State Police investigators say they are working with the Caroline County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine charges for an arrest warrant.
