Two family pets died during a house fire in Rehoboth Beach on Tuesday.

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company says just after 10:00 PM, they responded to a house fire on Cypress Drive, in Angola Neck Park, off of Camp Arrow Head Road. Once on scene, crews say they found heavy fired showing from the back of the structure.

Rehoboth Beach firefighters were assisted by the Lewes Fire Department and the Indian River Fire Company, as well as Sussex County and Rehoboth Beach EMS. All three companies then worked to quick knock down of the fire.

Officials say no one was home at the time of the fire, and that no human injures were reported. Two cats were reportedly found dead inside the home, during the firefighting operation.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal Office was on scene and are investigating the cause.
