Three arrested on gun & drug charges

Delaware State Police arrested three individuals who had a gun, and various drugs in their car according to authorities. Troopers reportedly observed a black Chevy Impala enter the parking lot of the Middleford Speedway, and then proceed to park and turn off its headlights.  This was reportedly around 9PM, when the speedway was closed.

State Troopers then approached the car with their emergency light flashing, they reported they saw the two passengers of the car, later identifird as 24 year old Spencer Wright and 30 year old Jeremy Cannon of Bridgeville, allegedly reach under the seat.

As troopers approached the car, they reported seeing a bundle of heroin on Cannon’s lap.  Cannon was then taken into custody and upon search troopers found a loaded .22 caliber handgun in his jacket according to officials.  Spencer Wright advised troopers he was in possession of marijuana and crack cocaine.  Upon Wright’s search, officers found the drugs he was referring to. The driver, 23 year old Erica Davis of Millsboro, was also removed form the car according to the report.

Police then searched the car and found additional heroin.  A total of 84 bags of heroin, and about half of a gram each of cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana were found during the investigation. All three in the car were arrested.

Cannon was charged with Possession of a firearm and ammo by person prohibited, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.  All three were charged with Possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit controlled substance, 2nd degree conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance.  Wright and Cannon were both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and Davis was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license.  Both Wright and Davis were released on Bail, Cannon was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution.
