Smyrna man arrested after meth lab found in Dover

A Smyrna man is facing charges, after Police say he was found to be operating a meth lab, in a Dover home.
Dover Police say while Officers were investigating a call to a home for trespassing, the found the door to the North Kirkwood Street residence, open. According to the report, the Officer then checked inside the house for the people who were reported to be trespassing, when he found 39-year-old Christopher Honaker, in the kitchen.
Officers say they immediately noticed a strong odor, and saw what looked to be a clandestine laboratory, used to make methamphetamine. Police say Officers then took Honaker into custody, without incident.
The Dover Police say the Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit responded to the house, along with DNREC Environmental Control and the Little Creek Fire Department’s HazMat Response Unit. The crews worked together, and removed all the materials and items inside the home used to make the lab, safely. Authorities then rendered the home safe.
After his arrest, Honaker was charged with operation of clandestine lab, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was then ordered to be James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $20,200 bond.
