Seahawks ascend past rival WPS in season finale

The Stephen Decatur (11-1) girls lacrosse season finished off the regular season finale with a strong 14-7 victory over rival Worcester Prep on Friday afternoon.

Lexie Van Kirk led all players in points (7), finishing with four goals, to tie to lead Decatur, along with Victoria Kerkovich. Claire Porter finished with 2 goals and three assists in the win. For Worcester Prep, Karlie Southcomb had a team-high 3 goals. Leah Lingo led the Mallards in points with 2 goals to go along with 2 assists.

Decatur goes on to play in the Bayside title game on Monday, May 9th at Easton High school at 5 p.m., while Prep will face off with Salisbury School on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the ESIAC tournament semifinals.
