School bus driver & aide facing child neglect charges

Easton Police say a driver of a Talbot County School bus and his aide have been charged after they apparently abandoned a special needs child.

Reports say driver identified as Michael Prager picked up the child for school back in April. Police say, because the child was misbehaving, the Prager allegedly dropped them off at the intersection of Lomax Street and Parris Lane, telling the child he would return in 30 minutes.

When Prager returned to the intersection the child was gone. According to reports, the child was eventually located by an Easton Utilities employee about a mile away.

The child was reportedly in good health and should have never have been allowed off the bus.

Prager and his aide on the school bus, identified as Melodie Warner, were served a criminal summons Friday charging them with one count each of neglect of a minor.
