Salisbury Middle teacher named “Teacher Who Makes A Difference”

Kenneth Johnson, a science teacher at Salisbury Middle School, was surprised by our news team Friday morning when he was named our latest “Teacher Who Makes A Difference” sponsored by 47ABC and Accurate Optical.
Johnson has been teaching at Salisbury Middle for 16 years but has about 29 years of experience overall.
He teaches 8th grade science and says his class is preparing for their “mission to mars” assignment, trying to simulate what it may be like to live on the red planet.
As an educator, he says getting students to understand science can be tough but he has advice.
“Science is kind of like eating a whale, you know? You can’t just eat it in one great big bite. You have to take one little bite at a time,” says Johnson. “Do what you love and love what you do and you can’t go wrong.”
