Saints Stay Perfect, Advance to the Regional Championship

The undefeated St Michaels softball team hosted Colonel Richardson Thursday and after a tough battle, the Saints were victorious winning it 7-5 and advancing to the Regional Championship game at home against Mardela.
The Colonels were the first to score in this contest. In the 3rd inning it was Madison Bee who hit a 2-out RBI triple to score Camyrn Plugge. That gave the Colonels a 1-0 lead but the Saints responded quickly.
Nay Nay Flannery hit an RBI double to score Layla Berry and ties this game up. the Saints weren’t done just yet after that. In order than hit an RBI triple, and RBI Double followed by an RBI single to make this a 4-1 game in the 3rd inning.
Colonel responded a little bit later, in the 5th inning Jazmine Brooks hit a solo shot to center to add another making it a 4-2 game. Then the Colonels made a comeback. Jen Larrimore with the RBI single, than Brooks again, this time with an RBI double to score Larrimore and make it a 4-4 game in the top of the 6th.
Saints Josie WIlson with the RBI single to give the Saints a 5-4 lead, than Layla Berry with the 2RBI triple to make it a 7-4 game.
Colonels managed to add another run but that wasn’t enough to send the Saints packing.
Saints now host Mardela on Friday.
