Saint Michaels Loses Extra Innings Heartbreaker in State Semifinals

Saint Michaels traveled to Frederick to take on Brunswick in the 1A State Semifinals, but lost a heartbreaker in extras 6-5 ending their season.
Brunswick jumped out to an early lead in this ballgame tallying 5 runs after just two innings. The Saints Finally got on the board when Seth Parks hit an RBI Sac Fly followed by Nathan Howeth’s fielders choice grounder; that managed to give them 2 runs after three. By the end of the fourth inning they were only trailing by one run.
The Saints then tied the game at 5-5 in the 6th after Trent Saunders drew a bases loaded walk, that plated Andrew Risher. This game would remain tied to the bottom of the 7th inning where St. Michaels had a chance to win this game in a walk-off and head to the State Title Game; instead they were silenced and this game was sent to extras.
Fast forward to the 9th inning and Brunswick was able to score a run in the top of the 9th, but again the Saints had a chance to still win the game. They weren’t able to pull out another run and were sent packing in the State Semi Finals.
