Poodle Club of America show to leave Wicomico County in 2017

For the past 12 years poodles and their owners have made their way to Wicomico County Civic Center for competition and show.

In 2017 that won’t be the case.

The Wicomico County Tourism office tells 47 ABC the poodle club of America is leaving Salisbury for the Midwest. Even so, we’re told a possible return is still on the table. Wicomico County has extended the invitation for 2018 and beyond.

The economic impact of an event like this hovers around $1.5-million. If it’s the loss of dogs you’re worried about, a larger golden retriever show will apparently make it’s way to the Civic Center in September of next year and that’s expected to have an economic impact over $4-million.
