Pocomoke holds first ever “graduation walk”

No matter what level, graduating is quite an accomplishment. On Friday, Pocomoke Elementary third graders moving on to middle school were congratulated by the graduating seniors of Pocomoke High with small scrolls inked with words of encouragement for the year ahead.

Third grader Jaidan Davis says, “I’m kinda scared because everyone’s really taller than me. I’m short, but she says it’s fun.”

The scrolls were only half of the excitement. The high schoolers, donning their cap and gowns, walked the halls of the elementary school and were cheered on with Pom- Poms, posters, and music to celebrate their achievements. Each third grader also gave a senior a carnation to honor their success.

Graduating senior Licurtis Whitney says, “It just feels incredible. I mean I worked hard for it. I put a lot of time into this school work and it payed off.”

Whitney will be attending the university of Maryland eastern shore in the fall.
